Olympus Spa Editorial Review – by Jill Lightner
The Scene
The distinct air of an urban health club pervades this spa, which is made up of communal space. While friends enjoy sharing the facilities, the steamy, water-based area feels like a slightly upscale locker room--lots of nudity, lots of scrubbing, scents of chlorine mixed with mugwort. The dry heat rooms are more mellow, often silent, and offer truly cozy relaxation amid the infrared heat and warm herbal scents.
The Services
Totally natural materials are used for facials and body moisturizers--fresh cucumber, honey, olive oil and aloe vera. All treatments are technically excellent, but are more vigorously therapeutic than flat-out relaxing. Scrubs and moisturizers are done in a communal space, while massages and paraffin treatments are private. All of the pools, saunas and rooms are accessible without an appointment; add services and the appropriate therapist will come and find you in a timely manner.
The Details
Dry sauna, steam room, waterfall pool, whirlpools, mineral water pools, far-infrared rooms. Massage, reflexology, body treatments, facials.
User Reviews
Excellent services for the price!

Whenever I am in Tacoma, I spend about 5-6 hours at this spa. Although I was initially uncomfortable with being nude in front of other women (especially since I don't have a great physique), I got over it and actually enjoyed the services. I bought the full spa package, and the body moisturizer was my favorite! I also enjoyed the body massage. If you're modest like me, then you may feel uncomfortable at first. If not, then you'll enjoy the services and the price!
- Pros: Inexpensive, Friendliness, Good parking
- Cons: Nudity, Common treatment area, No pkg w/80 min mass.
- Overall user rating: Recommended
